    The Viewing Area
    Memories and Memorials

Work to clean and rebuild the site at ground zero takes place as thousands visit to show their respect and grief at the loss.

Memorials take the form of flowers thrust through the fencing at the site, flags and a cross on the site and tributes decorating the fence of St. Paul's across the street.

No matter what is built in this place, it will always be a grave for those who were not recovered. The mix of hope for the future and respect for the ultimate price paid by so many innocent people will keep this ground hallowed.

The WTC site is a fairly well organized construction site but still functions as a memorial to those lost there.
From a window overlooking the site damage to neighboring buildings is still apparent.
A spontaneous memorial tribute grew on the fence of St. Paul's Chapel of Trinity Church.

Signs on the construction fence indicate the way to the viewing area.
The cross forged in the hell of the attack is mounted at the site.
