NYC River To River Festival
The
River to River Festival has become an annual event in
Lower Manhattan.
The tip of Manhattan Island, from the East River to the
Hudson turns the city into a stage for music, theater,
food, family fun and some very un-city-ized activities.
Hiking and birdwatching, music, dance, history and culture
are just some of the very popular urban outings scheduled
during the River to River season.
Lower Manhattan is your destination for all that and more.
Many of the events that you can enjoy here are free and
the events that charge admissions are still worth the
price. New York memories are waiting for you at the lower
end of the Island.
The
main attractions are the concerts with brass, classical
and other flavors of hot bands to fill the summer hours.
Walking tours of historic New York are also part of the
picture, including the African heritage in New York with
a stop at the African Burial Ground, and the New York
stations on the Underground Railroad. Other tours include
more modern attractions like Wall Street and the Financial
District.
Sunset
dinners and seafood extravaganzas are planned for those
who want to feed their bodies as well as their souls.
Many area restaurants have special menus and festivities
planned to compliment the River to River Festival.
More
than a million people make the festival activities part
of their NYC summer and the numbers keep going up.
