Island is now going under major renovations to provide
yet another yuppie enclave, but the famous Cyclone roller
coaster is still under landmark protection, the Coney Island
Mermaid Parade remains an annual institution, and mother
nature ensures the wild & windy surf remains as exciting
as ever.
Up
in The Bronx, the teeming masses head for Orchard
Beach in June (who apparently don't go home until August!)
- while Queens makes Rockaway
Beach its summer headquarters with most of the major
happening boardwalk action centering around 116th Street.
