Our memories of the city are fun to write. We hope you enjoy reading them. We'd also like to hear yours. Whether your stay was a lifetime or an afternoon, New York has a way of making you laugh, cry, get angry and learn life lessons - sometimes all from the same experience.

A Broadway show that wowed you or left you cold - an off-off-off Broadway street musician who lifted your heart or an encounter with a stranger who opened your eyes to some inner truth... Your cab ride from the airport or waiting in line for tickets all can be interesting for someone else to read.

These are just some of the experiences that New Yorkers share - no matter how long they are in the city.

Did you visit the Ground Zero site? What were your thoughts on that?

We welcome stories, poems, photos and other submissions for the site. We don't make money from doing this, so we can't pay for content, but we will give you a byline for anything that gets published here.

If you have any old time photos - we would love to add them to the site. We're working on scanning our family's photos from the days gone by and plan a gallery of New York as it was...

We can scan and return old photos to you or you can submit them as a jpg or gif file.

If you are sending photos, please tell us where and when they were taken. If you know who was in the picture and want them identified, provide that information as well. A line of text or a couple of paragraphs about the story behind the picture would be great but is not required.
