York Cocktails ->
Big Apple
Popularized by a dance craze
of the same name, this novelty cocktail was supposedly "the
latest sensation" when it first debuted in the spring
of 1938.
Although it requires mixology
skills combined with the dexterity of a line cook, the Big
Apple is worth mastering ...
Ingredients:
1 extra large red apple |
2 ounces orange juice |
3 ounces apple brandy |
1 ounce lemon juice |
How to Make It:
Using a sharp knife, slice
off the top of the apple, and reserve.
Core and hollow out the remainder
of the apple.
In a blender, mix the pulp
with remaining ingredients. Pour mixture into the apple
shell.
Cut a triangle (large enough
for a straw) in the top slice, and replace.
Serve with a straw.
