Bronx Cocktail
At the turn of the century,
famous bartender Johnnie Solon held sway over the Waldorf-Astoria
Hotel on Park Avenue.
There, patrons regaled him
with amazing tales of the new Bronx
Zoo that had just opened in 1899.
"It's the talk of the
town," said Johnnie. "We'll have to name a new
drink after it."
Here it is:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces dry gin |
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth |
1 1/2 ounces dry vermouth |
1/2 ounce orange juice |
How to Make It:
Fill a large mixing glass with
ice.
Add all ingredients, stir vigourously
and strain into a cocktail glass.
