In
the midst of terrorism and horror, the best of humanity
surfaced. Men and women worked, with no thought of their
own welfare, to save anyone who might have survived. The
flags that waved reflected the pride and endurance of
the American people. Hospitals had to turn away the lines
of New Yorkers who showed up to give blood. Supplies for
the rescue workers poured in from all over the world.
All through the city, strangers offered support and comfort
to each other. No where was this more apparent than at
Ground Zero.
